These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of the Shnayim app (“the app”), published by Holy Coders (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to these Terms.
1. Use of the app
You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and any additional rules described here.
2. No religious authority
The app provides a tracker and a presentation of Torah and (where included) Targum text. It is not a substitute for rabbinic guidance. The weekly schedule, the segmentation of aliyot, and the text rendering are provided “as-is” for convenience and study, and may contain errors. For halachic questions, consult a qualified Rav.
3. Text accuracy
Text data is derived from third-party sources (see the data attribution). While we take reasonable care to ship correct text, we make no warranty about its accuracy, completeness, vocalization, cantillation, or fitness for any particular religious obligation.
4. “As-is” disclaimer
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
5. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL HOLY CODERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY DIRECT DAMAGES WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
6. Intellectual property
- Application code: The application’s source code is owned by Holy Coders and licensed under the MIT License.
- App branding: The “Shnayim” name and any associated logos and assets are the property of Holy Coders.
- Text data: Torah and (where included) Targum Onkelos text is derived from Sefaria and remains subject to its upstream license.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sefaria.
7. Privacy
Use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
